Megan Leonard, M.A., LMHCA

Clinical Therapist Associate

Pronouns: she/her

Currently Offering: Family Preservation Services and Outpatient Counseling

My name is Megan Leonard. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and graduate with an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I completed my internship with Anchor Point Counseling before joining the team permanently!

Before entering the mental health field, I served as a Captain in the United States Army, where I supported soldiers and their families as a human resources officer. After leaving the military, I worked in both medical and educational settings as an administrative assistant. In each of these roles, I found myself drawn to helping people navigate challenges, feel supported, and move forward with confidence. This naturally led me to counseling, where I now have the privilege of working with children, adults, and families in Walla Walla and the surrounding communities.

Therapeutic Orientation and Treatment Modality

My heart for this work is centered on helping individuals and families find greater safety, peace, and connection—both within themselves and in their relationships. I believe that every person’s story matters, and that meaningful change is possible when people feel heard, understood, and supported. When working with families, I view them as interconnected systems, where growth in one area can positively impact the whole. When working with individuals, I focus on building insight, resilience, and tools that support lasting change. I partner with clients to identify and overcome the challenges that may be standing in the way of well-being. Therapy looks different for everyone, but I often use talk therapy with an emphasis on psychoeducation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and meaning- making to help clients better understand themselves and create positive, sustainable change.

I support individuals and families who may be experiencing:

 Anxiety, depression, addiction, or other mental health concerns

 Past or generational trauma

 Life transitions, stress, or relationship challenges

 Parenting concerns and child behavioral issues

 Supporting a child with special needs

 Family changes such as divorce, deployment, or incarceration

 Identity development and major life-stage transitions

 Other unique personal or family challenges

You don’t have to walk this journey alone. It would be an honor to support you as you move toward healing, growth, and stronger connections.
